On the second day of our road trip to National Parks in the American Southwest, we drove 2.5 hours from Rifle, Colorado to Moab, Utah. Moab was our base for two of the Mighty Five in Utah — the Arches National Park and the Canyonlands National Park.
第二天吃完飯店早餐，開兩個半小時的車到猶他Mighty Five五大國家公園的其中一個據點 – 摩押市(Moab, Utah)，拱門國家公園(Arches)和峽谷地國家公園(Cayonlands)都離Moab不遠。
For lunch we chose El Charro Loco. Living in a Mexican food desert, we were pleased with the variety and layered flavors of their salsa. Tacos were pretty bland though.
Moab有很多餐廳，午餐選了一家墨西哥菜 El Charro Loco，平常住在東岸鄉下地方，除了一家taco stand之外完全沒有好吃的墨西哥餐廳，吃到味道多層次又有烤過的香氣的salsa覺得好感人！綜合拼盤有些品項還不錯，但牛肉和手撕豬肉的taco都蠻無聊的。
On this day, we wanted to shoot sunset and the milky way at the Delicate Arch and planned on leaving at 6pm. We had some time to kill before shopping for groceries and checking into our B&B, so we took a drive along the Upper Colorado River Scenic Byway.
這天打算傍晚去走Delicate Arch拍夕陽和銀河，晚上六點才要出門，所以吃完午餐之後打算去科羅拉多河景觀道路走走看看，去超市採購接下來幾天的食材，再回民宿休息。
The Upper Colorado River Scenic Byway is a spectacular drive along the Colorado River gorge just north of Moab. This highway is about 44 miles long. It is an out-and-back scenic drive that would take about 2 hours with stops and photo time. Many western films were shot here. Attractions on this route include Castle Valley, Professor Valley, and Fisher Towers. A good turnaround point would be Fisher Towers or the Hittle Bottom Campground. This drive would take about 40 minutes one way from downtown Moab. There are campgrounds along the Colorado River to pull over and easy hiking on the way.
科羅拉多河景觀道路(Upper Colorado River Scenic Byway U-128) 在Moab北邊一點點，這條景觀道路沿著科羅拉多河谷走，總長約70公里 (44 英里)，適合從Moab出發，開到Fisher Towers 或前面一點點的露營地 (the Hittle Bottom Campground) 再折回Moab，慢慢開加上停下來走走和拍照大概會花兩個小時，主要景點有Castle Valley, Professor Valley, Fisher Tower，很多西部片都在這裡取景，沿路有一些地方可以停下來拍照或者健行。
If time allows, there’s easy to moderate hiking on the Fisher Towers Trail. The trail is about 2.2 miles one way, 4 hours round trip.
The mesas and towers around here are made of the Cutler Formation sandstone. Seeing these mesas was like watching a preview of Monument Valley, which we were going to visit in a few days. We walked a little bit of the Fisher Towers Trail. It felt like we were in The Land Before Time seeking the Great Valley.
有時間爬山的話可以把車停在Fisher Towers步道口的停車場，這條步道單程大概2.2英里，大概四個小時來回。
這一帶的石峰是和紀念碑谷一樣的卡特勒層（Cutler Formation）砂岩，沿路有一種紀念碑谷預告片的感覺，一直在幻想我們在小恐龍歷險記尋找the Great Valley。
