Good-bye, Easy Mt. Washington Sunrise
The sunrise last Saturday was not all that glamorous. Yet it was the last day that I was able to get up early and easily make it to Mount Washington by myself before I end the lease of my Shadyside apartment and completely move out of the city. That milestone status makes this morning trip blog-worthy.

Lily Pond at the Phipps Conservatory
I meant to make another trip in summer to the outdoor lily pond at the Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Garden but never got a chance. This outdoor pond is one of the most photogenic places in Phipps or in Schenley Park. This pond is located in Schenley Park outside of the greenhouse. No admission is needed.
Pittsburgh Pirates Post-Game Fireworks from Mount Washington
So, I bought my first camera about three months ago. I don’t really know what I’m doing, but I enjoy taking pictures. This is my little fireworks shooting journal. Maybe it would provide some background for people who are new to the area or traveling here and plan on shooting or watching Pittsburgh Pirates post-game fireworks; maybe some photographer passing by would tell me, okay very cute for trying, but you should do xyz.
我大概三個月前買了人生第一台單眼，現在還是個跟它不太熟、很不懂攝影的狀態，所以這篇其實比較像學習心得兼檢討，還有說不定可以讓人生地不熟的人們或新手參考一下要去哪看匹茲堡海盜隊賽後煙火，或者路過的攝影師可以來指點一下。
Phipps Conservatory
Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Garden is one of the assets that Pittsburgh is most proud of. This Victorian greenhouse was built in 1893 as a gift to the City of Pittsburgh by Henry Phipps. When G-20 Summit was held in Pittsburgh in 2009, its welcome dinner was hosted in Phipps. Their facilities are available for events from wedding parties to fundraising receptions.
I had been living in Pittsburgh for five years and never went to Phipps. It’s been on my to-do list. Just so happened that I got a couple of days off right after I bought a new camera. So I thought I would go practice with some butterflies in captivity.
Phipps花園是匹茲堡除了足球和冰上曲棍球之外最能拿來說嘴的事之一，1893年富豪Henry Phipps蓋了這個溫室花園送給匹茲堡，號稱是全美最老的維多利亞式溫室，2009年G-20高峰會在匹茲堡辦的時候，各國領袖是在這個溫室花園吃開幕晚餐，平常也可以租他們的場地來辦婚禮或慈善晚宴。在匹茲堡住了五年，很慚愧竟然沒去過Phipps，剛拿到新相機，決定作弊拿溫室裡的蝴蝶來練習。
